Dominik Szkatula has lived with the indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon for 37 years. She will participate in the synod.
The Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome hosted a meeting in which Card. Hummes and Card. Barreto participated. They are responsible for the Synod.
The first semester was marked by the summit on abuses, trips to Europe and Muslim countries.
"The mistakes of the past have not been enough to stop the plundering and inflicting wounds to our brothers and sisters and our sister earth," he recalled.
